What Educational Challenges Is Efekta Education Solving?

Efekta Education is addressing some of the most pressing challenges in global education, from teacher shortages and large class sizes to the growing need for personalized learning. By combining AI-powered learning tools with teacher support, Efekta is exploring how technology can help deliver high-quality education at scale while keeping teachers at the heart of learning.

Efekta is solving the global teacher shortage

The global education system faces a crisis: there simply aren’t enough skilled teachers. With an estimated 1.5 billion people learning English and fewer than 5% achieving fluency, the challenge extends far beyond language learning. Teachers are stretched across subjects they’re not trained to teach, classrooms remain too large for individual attention, and instruction quality varies dramatically, particularly in rural areas.

At its core, the challenge is scalability. One teacher cannot simultaneously provide personalized attention to 40+ students with vastly different learning needs. This structural limitation has persisted for centuries, but today, it’s solvable.

How Efekta addresses these challenges

Efekta’s agentic teaching platform is built on two interconnected components.

First, the AI Learning Companion provides personalized one-to-one support to every student through adaptive practice, immersive simulations, and instant feedback. This isn’t replacing teachers – it’s giving each student a personal tutor working around the clock, something previously available only to the wealthy.

Second, AI Teaching Assistants empower classroom teachers by reducing administrative workload and providing real-time classroom insights. Teachers can ask natural-language questions about their students and receive actionable insights instantly. The system generates lesson materials, grades work, and flags which students need support the most, allowing teachers to focus on what they do best: motivation, mentorship, and higher-value instruction.

The results speak for themselves

Across Asia, Efekta is demonstrating that large-scale, AI-enabled public education reform is possible within constrained budgets; having a transformational impact on students and teachers alike, improving learning outcomes across education systems.

In Vietnam, Efekta has partnered with Vietnam Education Publishing House to launch Happy Learning Lab (HLL), an AI-powered English learning solution for general education. A pilot at Western Hanoi School saw 98.6% of students improve their English proficiency, highlighting the solution’s ability to deliver meaningful learning gains. The first phase of the partnership will bring HLL to secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City from the 2026–2027 academic year, with the potential to support wider adoption across the education system.

Technology’s Role – And Its Limits

The question of what technology should handle, versus what remains fundamentally human is crucial. Technology excels at delivering consistent, personalized content at scale; measuring granular learning metrics across 100+ data points; adapting instantly to individual progress; and handling administrative tasks that steal time from meaningful human interaction.

But technology must never replace the irreplaceable elements of the human teacher: motivation, inspiration, relationship-building, and judgement about when a student needs encouragement versus challenge. Efekta’s philosophy reflects this distinction. The AI handles the core teaching – explaining concepts, providing practice, giving feedback. Human teachers orchestrate the learning environment, provide emotional support, celebrate progress, and make contextual decisions that algorithms cannot.

The Path Forward

Schools face challenges that seemed insurmountable a decade ago. Efekta demonstrates that by keeping human teachers central while augmenting their capabilities with AI, we can finally deliver high-quality, personalized education at scale – for the cost of a textbook per learner. That’s not just a technological achievement; it’s an educational revolution.

Efekta at IECEE 2026

Efekta will bring its perspective on AI-powered education and the future of learning to IECEE 2026 – International Conference on Education Cooperation in the Digital Era & Education and EdTech Exhibition, taking place on 8–9 October 2026 at Grand Plaza Hotel Hanoi.

The event will bring together education leaders, universities, international organizations, technology companies, EdTech providers and experts to share ideas, explore emerging technologies and build new opportunities for cooperation.

Efekta’s participation adds an important perspective to the conversation around AI in education, particularly how technology can support teachers, personalize learning and help expand access to quality education at scale.
